Gorm Biering-Sørensen.
I was born in Denmark 1945 Between the ages of 17 and 23, I worked as a sailor, living mainly in East Asia. Already as a child, I was interested in painting, making decorations and sculpting. I made my first sculpture when I was 5 years old, and when I was 9, I attended a course in oil painting. But, I consider myself to be self-taught. A lot of my paintings bear the impression of my former experiences, and I paint with light and strong colours. My paintings are also full of impressions from nature. I paint the forms and colours I see in nature and I like to paint from life in a naturalistic and abstract way best, using especially green and blue colours.. I work mostly in oils and acrylics. In addition to painting and sculpting, I have also worked with film, photography, theater production, town district architecture, and murals. I did a 130-square-meter wall mural for a post office hall in Copenhagen, and was the project leader of 6 murals around the city, and two of this was during the Cultural project “Copenhagen 1996”. At this time, I made 6 different proposals for murals on other buildings in the town of Hvidovre. I also work with plastart sculpture- and land art installations. Over the years, I have also made iron, clay and stone sculpture and I have produced a large number of serigraphs for pictures and posters. Since 1982, I have been working very much with stone sculpture. I
am active in many different artistic and cultural projects and have
exhibited in Denmark and other countries. |
